If you’ve ever travelled by air, most probably you have, and if you have a loving pet at home which you wanted to bring along with you well this will change the feeling of helplessness, a Kennel to carry your pet dog in when you fly. Most airlines insist on putting the pets in very specifically built kennels and unless you have one taking the pet to the airport in a makeshift and then discovering it wont fly, ouch not the best way to do things. The Petmate is a truly approved “airline ready” kennel. The only missing thing is vents in the back which have been purposely left out of the design so as to allow dual use at home as well. If you run into an airline that insists on vents in the back as well just go ahead and drill holes in the back, at most a 5 minute job. The Petmate is great for even large dogs that are up to 21 inch tall, up to 32 inch wide and 48 inch long. That’s a lot of space. You can use it as a kennel for smaller dogs at home without any modifications.

The Petmate has wire windows but these are very easily cleaned. The kennel fasteners are pretty sturdy and come with a secure locking door. It is even environment friendly in its construction as the kennel is made of up to 25 percent recycled material. It meets USDA and IATA requirements for shipping live animals so pretty much out of the box it’s ready for a flight. However some airlines nowadays insist on ventilation on four sides of the kennel, in that case you can go ahead and make holes on the back of the kennel as well using an ordinary drill. The material is plastic so not very difficult to make those holes. Since most airlines insist on plastic kennels bolted together by plastic or metal threaded screws the material used on this kennel fits in perfectly with the advisories.
